Letter from the Director

Dear Prospective Applicant:

Thank you for taking the time to consider our program for your graduate medical education.

Our program is a three-year, fully accredited, unopposed training program south of Seattle. We provide the training to prepare you to practice full-spectrum family medicine in an urban or rural setting. This is accomplished with a curricular emphasis in obstetrics, doctor-patient communication, and population-based medicine taught by faculty dedicated to guiding your training endeavors. We our proud of the outcome this training has provided to our current residents and graduates. Since the inception of the program our graduates have maintained 100% pass rate for the ABFP Certification Exam.

Our innovative program is designed to foster collegiality, offer the flexibility to pursue special interests, promote participatory decision-making, and support balance between personal and professional lives.

We provide comprehensive healthcare to a community rich in socioeconomic and ethnic diversity. Our program is conveniently located on the campus of Valley Medical Center, a community-based teaching hospital.

Regardless of your desire for city life or suburban living, the location of our program is an ideal choice. Because of its natural assets, the Puget Sound Region offers unparalleled recreational opportunities; such as hiking, skiing, boating, fishing, and mountain biking, to name a few.

We are committed to providing you the opportunity to practice quality family medicine in an environment that is stimulating and supportive. Fifty percent of our graduates practice in towns of under fifty thousand people and the majority include OB in their practices. It is my hope that as you learn more about what we offer you will find our program an excellent choice for your future.

Sincerely,
Antonio Pedroza, M.D.
